The natural air conditioning system of the Four Elements Hotel Amsterdam runs on gravity, wind and sunlight. It is the first hotel in the world to use this technique. The idea of designing the building as a "climate machine" is based on the natural ventilation system found in termite mounds.
This concept is an idea of Dr. Bronsema and is the backbone of the hotel, providing fresh air, heat, cooling and energy, with excess thermal energy stored underground.
When you open the window, the climate system will automatically switch off and reset the room temperature to 21 degrees Celsius.
